The Symposium is organised by SPIEZ LABORATORY together with the company Applied Science & Analysis, Inc. (ASA), Aberdeen, Maryland, USA, and will be held at the AC-Zentrum in Spiez. This year’s Symposium will be attended by approx. 120 professionals from around 30 countries and the congress language will be English. Present will be professionals from former East Block states, as well as countries in the Middle and Far East and South America. During 5 intensive days of work, the Symposium will take form with lectures from experts, poster presentations and discussions. Together with this, there will be possibilities for the participants to informally exchange personal thoughts and information. Also included in the programme is a group excursion to a tourist destination in the Bernese Oberland and a festive Symposium dinner in the Spiez community Lötschbergsaal.

The first CBMTS Symposium was held in Spiez in 1994, and since then the event has found its home in the Bernese Oberland. This year’s Symposium is a Jubilee event. The geographical and organisational continuity of the CBMTS has ensured that it has become a fixed platform for the international exchange of scientific information about the problems of protection from NBC threats
SPIEZ LABORATORY is proud to be able to contribute, as co-event organiser and host of the CBMTS-series to international understanding and peace support.
