To promote national and international cooperation on all NBC protection issues.
To enhance our biological expertise in response to the increased threat of bioterrorist attacks.
To support the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) with the implementation and monitoring of the chemical weapons’ convention, which bans the development, production, stockpiling and use of chemical weapons, and demands their destruction.
To guarantee the readiness of the DDPS operational deployment team (DTDDPS) and raise its reaction capabilities in the event of a terrorist attack involving chemical warfare agents.
To participate in UN missions to assess and inspect exposure to radiation in crisis-hit regions, for example due to the presence of ammunition containing depleted uranium.
